So many ups so many downs. I've been running myself ragged to the point where I am literally running on E. I don't even hardly have time to do my hair, which is why I've been opting for this slick back kind of look. Also with my hair growing faster then I intended it to, I don't fully get to enjoy my shorter hair cuts :( I am liking the masculinity and since my face is a bit more round especially around my cheeks I feel like it makes my face look more defined.

An ode to all the expressions I made in school (minus the last pic hehe). I wish I had more energy so I could share how commuting to work is literally killing me but it's my bedtime :(

Wearing this Club Monaco cashmere scarf with everything and rightfully so with this ever-changing weather. Just when I thought the weather was taking a turn for good we got a blizzard. In fact, this winter it has snowed more than any winter I've endured since moving back to NY in 2009! Or maybe that's just because I've been in Albany and it snows here every other day.

Implying Winter

The weather allowed me to wear a denim jacket and velvet slippers and a bit of color in there just in anticipation of Spring. I'm just about sure that everyone here in New York is counting down till Spring, just three more weeks :) There was quite a bit of rambling in my last post, I tend to get riled up when speaking about eye health. When I was younger wearing my glasses seemed extremely embarrassing and unnecessary. For the longest  I wore frames that were too large for my face and enlarged my eyes. Being a tomboy did not make things easier either. I was always running, falling, getting banged up and finding unconventional ways to break my glasses; most of the time on purpose so I wouldn't have to wear them. It wasn't until I was seventeen when I finally got my first pair of contacts and started to appreciate my glasses. Nowadays I wear my glasses 65% of the time and every once in a while I laugh and reflect on those days where I'd "accidentally" leave my glasses at home so I wouldn't have to wear them to school. I can't help but wonder what my eight year old self would say to me "actually" wanting to wear glasses over contacts.

The Coldest Winter

I'm going to ramble a bit so here's the warning….

First off, I can't believe it's been so many days since my last post, life! Between driving long distances, automobile repairs, catching up on all my shows (Walking Dead, Scandal, Once Upon A Time), seeing Solange live (in Boston!) and eating frozen yogurt and homemade brownies…I've been doing everything besides blogging. I just finally got in from Boston and I am exhausted and tomorrow I have two meetings in the city ugh! I went to see Solange last night at the Paradise Rock Club where she sold out and gave one hell of a performance. She did all the tracks from True and a few from her previous album but one of my favorite highlights of the evening was her singing Selena's "I Could Fall In Love". Such a sweet surprise and every girl in the audience loved every minute of it.

For the pass few weeks my "whats in my bag post" some time back, has been receiving a ton of page views so I've been working on a updated post. I've been carrying this bag around with me everywhere and I know you guys are probably tired of seeing it but I love it so much! and I fit a lot of useful good stuff in here, so I can't wait to share it :)

Okay I have so much to do to prepare for what's going to be the longest Thursday of my life so I'll see you guys soon!

(H&M knit, Zara stripe pants, Belle Noel Ram Horn earrings)

Hiding indoors and being super conspicuous in these wide leg stripe pants. I've been holding onto these babies I got for a measly $15.00 last winter; I just love after christmas sales. I am about 100% sure when purchasing I told myself "can't wait to wear these this spring", instead I let a few seasons fly right on by and wore them when snow was on the ground; perhaps during one of the coldest winters I've experienced in NY. I wore leggings underneath so I didn't freeze my ass off, I like to call that "transitioning my wardrobe". I can wear my spring pieces layered and think warm thoughts and I get more wear out of my clothes. No one, outside of fashion week, is wearing any color. I don't know about you but wearing bright colors makes me feel happy and one might even mistake the tears on my cheek to be tears of joy, I'd like to think that myself too, but in reality that's from the brutal seventeen degree cold.

℅ Johnny
(Zara Knit, F21 Denim, Aldo tassel wedges, Casio watch)

What was suppose to be an attempt to trim my split dead ends turned into a new hair cut. Not by my choice, my beautician was simply scissor happy and not listening to my requests. I, however, am not completely disappointed with my cut, I've learned to make the best out of bad hair cuts. If it wasn't for  my bad hair cut in 2009 there would be no Tiff James Deen.  I voyaged off to the library on campus where Johnny studies. I just couldn't believe that he's managed this far in life without reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. In fact, when I referenced Mark Twains famous character, he replied by asking if Tom Sawyer was "some blogger" - he was either 1. raised by wolves or 2. a martian.
